In her keynote address, Prof Schmidt-Erfurth focused on new artificial intelligence tools and their usage in addressing age-related macular degeneration.

At this year's meeting of the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), Ursula Schmidt-Erfurth, MD, delivered the first keynote address of the Congress. She is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Her research specalization is innovation in retinal imaging, with a special focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and novel therapeutic strategies. She is the founder of the Vienna Reading Center and the Ophthalmic Image Analysis group (OPTIMA).

Prof. Schmidt-Erfurth delivered the Euretina Lecture, titled AI and AMD: How new tools change understanding, diagnosis and management of disease. In this video, she shares details of her keynote lecture and how innovative strategies are directly applicable in daily clinical practice.
