SOE holds a special place in its heart for the up-and-coming young ophthalmologists and is providing them a number of opportunities to hone their skills and establish professional contacts at this meeting.

The European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) will convene for a 3-day session running from June 15 to 17, 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference will take place at the Prague Congress Centre in Prague, Czech Republic, located at 5. května 1640/65, 140 21 Praha 4-Nusle.
SOE holds a special place in its heart for the up-and-coming young ophthalmologists (YO) and is providing them a number of opportunities to hone their skills and establish professional contacts at this meeting.
The YO Lounge, which is Clube E that is situated on the first floor of the conference center, is provided especially for them. It is open daily during the congress and is reserved for their exclusive use. The YO Lounge will be the venue for exciting and informal sessions presented by international experts along with lunchtime specific YO sessions. The YOs are invited to relax and enjoy complementary refreshments, Wi-Fi, and the opportunity to network with your international peers, the SOE YO committee, and their national representatives.
The YO Lounge will be openThursday and Friday 9:30 – 17:30 and Saturday 9:30 – 16:00.
Lunch will be available for YOs each day from 12:00 – 13:00

Suturing courses
These hands-on courses will be available on Thursday and Friday, June 15 and 16. Attendees can access the SOE website to determine availability.
This instruction helps trainees and junior doctors learn the core skills to perform ophthalmic suturing. The course will cover the basics of ophthalmic eye surgery, an overview of microsurgical instruments, and the theory of different suturing techniques.
Step-by-step video tutorials will guide the participants through their training, which is conducted at a personal workstation equipped with a microscope and suturing materials.
The course directors are Dr. H. Van Cleynenbreugel and Dr. Onne Creten from Belgium, assisted by several experienced instructors. Each course will be supervised by two instructors, allowing for ample time for questions and personal advice.
